Mt. Pinatubo On My Birthday

Yesterday, I finally got to see the majestic sight of Mt. Pinatubo crater. A beautiful disaster indeed. And I want to share my adventure/experience in this wonderful place.

For fear of being incoherent, here are my random thoughts na lang about my trek to Mt. Pinatubo.

**We booked a private tour service 1 week ahead. Then 3 days before the date of our tour, I received an email from TRIPinas, sabi may administrative dispute daw ang Capas, Tarlac at Botolan, Zambales kaya bigla daw pinasara ang Mt. Pinatubo. They would advise us daw kung buksan ulit kung matutuloy kami on March 28.

Call time was 3am. So, yun na. Ang tanong sa sarili: di kaya ako mag-collapse during trek?

**Dati pala 15-20 minutes lang ang trek to Mt. Pinatubo. So, we had to trek for 2 hours to get to the crater after a 1 and a half hour 4×4 ride from the base camp. Ganoon din pabalik.

**Hindi lang ang bulkan ang maganda. Actually, once your board the 4×4, doon na magsisimula ang magandang sight. The beauty of nature… or in this case, an aftermath of a natural disaster.

**Mabato ang daan during the trek. Colorful rocks were scattered everywhere but they still looked beautiful. Beautiful mess, kumbaga. We had to cross several streams. The water was cold.

Pero sinuwerte na makulimlim so malamig during our trek kahit summer.

So, sulit talaga.

**Dahil weekday, wala kaming gaanong kasabay. Kaya walang gaanong photobomber. There were times na feeling namin, kami lang ang nandoon at solo namin ang place.

**Nakakapagod pero worth it. I love the experience! It’s great to commune with nature once in a while. Nakakawala ng stress.

**Hindi ako nag-collapse, thank God. And I was able to survive the 10km/4hrs trek. 33 hours awake but I was able to pull it off. Ako na! lol

**This is the most unique birthday celebration I have had so far. And yes, happy 35th birthday to me 😀
